Three more suspects have been arrested in connection with the London car and stabbing attack which claimed the lives of eight people and left several others injured five days ago near the Borough Market close to the London Bridge.
“Officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command, supported by firearms officers, arrested two men on a street in Ilford, a third was arrested after warrant was carried out at a residential address in Ilford,” police said in a statement.
According to UK cops a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the “preparation of terrorist attacks,” while a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs.
The third suspect, a 29-year-old who was arrested at a residence in London was nabbed on suspicion of the preparation of terrorist acts.
Four days ago, 12 suspects were also arrested in connection with the incident after several raids in east London suburb.
According to Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick more investigations into the attack are still ongoing.
The deadly attack which occurred six days ago saw the attackers plough their car into unsuspecting pedestrians before embarking on a stabbing spree.
The assailants numbering up to three were however shot dead by cops who engaged them in a gun duel after rushing to the scene of the incident.
